LARRY T. ORDET is a Managing Partner, Operating Committee with Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Miami office. Mr. Ordet concentrates his practice on general customs compliance matters, with particular emphasis on tariff classification, country of origin, valuation, preference program and free trade agreement qualification, and penalty issues. He has worked extensively on WCO tariff classification issues involving the modification of the Harmonized System and related Explanatory Notes.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Ordet served as a senior attorney with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. During his tenure at Customs headquarters he was responsible for preparing rulings and internal memoranda regarding the interpretation of many aspects of customs law, including classification, drawback, bonded warehouses, foreign-trade zones, temporary importation under bond and protest procedures. He also has significant experience in the application of USMCA and other trade agreements.
Mr. Ordet holds a J.D. (cum laude) from Nova Southeastern Law School and a B.S. degree from the University of Florida. He is a member of the bar in Florida.
