Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., announced today the addition of attorneys Sarah Sprinkle and Jared Cynamon to further increase the firm’s ability to help businesses affected by antidumping and countervailing duty orders on imports.
“AD and CV duties can significantly increase the landed cost of imported goods, and the number of AD/CV duty orders maintained by the U.S. has doubled in recent years,” said William Marshall, a member in charge of ST&R’s Trade Remedies Practice. “Not only has this greatly expanded the universe of products subject to these duties, but it has also led to a huge increase in federal enforcement efforts that can be a major headache for importers. Sarah and Jared will be an important part of ST&R’s continuing effort to help companies mitigate the effects of these trends.”
Sarah Sprinkle, who will join ST&R as a member and co-lead the Trade Remedies Practice, has more than a decade of experience in private practice advising clients on a wide range of international regulatory and trade policy matters, particularly trade remedy issues. She also counsels businesses on customs, market access, sanctions, export control, and other issues. She holds a J.D. from the University of Washington Law School and an M.A. in international law from the University of Washington. Ms. Sprinkle is based in ST&R’s Washington, D.C., office and can be reached at ssprinkle@strtrade.com or (202) 730-4969.
Associate Jared Cynamon comes to ST&R from the Department of Commerce, where his work on AD/CV duty matters included advising officials on legal obligations, judicial precedent, and customs issues throughout trade remedy proceedings and defending DOC determinations in federal court. Earlier in his career, he worked at the International Trade Commission, where he focused on intellectual property rights cases and ITC rules and regulations. He holds an LL.M. in international and European business law from Université Jean Moulin Lyon III and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. Mr. Cynamon is also based in Washington, D.C., and can be reached at jcynamon@strtrade.com or (202) 730-4963.
The firm has also added customs attorney Marisa Littlefield to its Washington, D.C., office as an associate. She holds a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law, where she served as an editor-in-chief of The Arbitration Brief and president of the International Trade and Investment Law Society. Her addition will bolster an already robust team that for nearly 50 years has utilized innovative and effective strategies that help companies streamline their global commerce operations, comply with relevant laws and regulations, and minimize related costs. Ms. Littlefield can be reached at mlittlefield@strtrade.com or (202) 730-4977.
