European Union

The next meeting of the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council, and likely the last one before both sides hold elections later this year, will be held April 4-5 in Belgium. No details have yet been given on topics to be discussed at the meeting, but the previous talks in January focused on diversifying economies, building resilient supply chains, coordinating export controls, and combating economic coercion.

Americas

A meeting of the finance track of the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity was held March 8 in the Dominican Republic. Discussions among finance ministers centered on the supply chain competitiveness plans that are being developed in conjunction with the Inter-American Development Bank, which aim to improve regional integration, boost supply chain security, and create quality jobs across the region.

FTAs

India has signed a free trade agreement with the European Free Trade Association, which comprises Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. A Bloomberg article noted that India is signing more FTAs as trading partners seek to diversify their economies away from China, with deals also under discussion with the United Kingdom, EU, and Australia.
